Explanation from 1909 sales catalogue :-

'Between the year 1904 - when we last catalogued a Motor Cycle - and the present time, we have been steadily experimenting, testing, and perfecting the Motor Cycle made on entirely new principles, which we are now offering to the public.  The design and equipment are entirely novel.  Our Motor Cycle is not an adapted cycle with engine, tank, etc., attached, but is designed with a view to perfect comfort and control, the result of which is a well-balanced, carefully thought-out vehicle, which is most accurately described as the "One Track Car."
