Frame numbering
Frame numbers were prefixed with a year code. (1955) 55J15-xxx

Model announcement
"Motor Cycling" 2 September 1954 (A Sextet of 1955 James Models) announced the J15 and showed a photo.

"The Motor Cycle" 18 November 1954 (James: Stand 85. Six attractive Lightweights, page 657) and an advert (page 67).  

"Motor Cycling" (same date) carried an advert with a photo of the J15.

Road tests
"Motor Cycling" for 16 June 1955 (Road Tests of Current Models, page 208) carried a roadtest - "A Lively Lightweight for Greet with Good Performance at Low Cost".
