Frame numbering
Frame numbers were prefixed with a year /model code.  (1962) HM16-xxx.  (1963) IM16-xxx. etc.

Model announcement
I have no details of a press announcement. The model was not given the "Cadet" names of its predecessors.  It used the 150cc AMC engine in the Captain frame but with lightweight (Cadet) forks.  It was painted a light metallic green.  It was the last "new" James model.
