André Baldet and  Norman Moore at the end of the run

For the 1000 miles in 24 hours attempt André Baldet requested a "standard model" Cavalier to be delivered with no special parts except for a "racing-type chain" and a chain guide.  A spare ignition coil and spare cables were carried but not used.  The bike was registered JNH 639.  André Baldet  rode the whole of the 1000 miles himself.  The attempt was made on open roads amongst normal everyday traffic.  The 1000 miles was completed in 23 hours and 52 minutes
