The James Scooter

The scooter boom of the 1950's was over by the time James introduced their model, the SC1.

Introduced in May 1960, it generated a lot of press and, generally good reviews.

Many were of the opinion that it was underpowered. The frame is very heavy. Early models had a 3-speed gearbox. For 1963 it was fitted with a Villiers 4-speed box fitted via an adapter plate.
