James made bicycles.

Harry James started in business making bicycles. In the 1880s they were called Ordinary bicycles but are, perhaps, better known as "penny farthings."

Later on they moved to "Safety" models. These had the diamond pattern frame that we are familiar with today. Throughout their history they made a huge range of bicycles, tandems and tricycles for adults and children.

In the late 1800s and early 1900s there was a lot of interest in cycle racing.
