The 1929 James Speedway (dirt track) Model A10 with the 500cc O.H.V. engine and James all metal clutch.

The clutch was popular amongst speedway riders and was often grafted on to other makes.  Having all metal plates it was not prone to fade or wear under fierce clutch starts.

Note the strutted frame and the engine shield to keep the shale off the front of the engine.  The forks also had extra bracing tubes - note the tube obscures the star-shaped friction damper on the fork.  It cost £80.
