Paint
The J11 was maroon throughout with a silver line round the raised tank panel
Wheel rims and saddle springs were silver (Argenize aluminium finish).
The saddle frame was black.

Plating
Chrome: Headlamp nuts, rim and switch, handlebars and levers, exhaust system
Cadmium: Nuts and bolts
Black (Parkerised): Footrest bar

Polishing
1955: The aluminium hub centres were polished.
