Paint
The Commando was maroon throughout.
The tank was double lined in silver. (Thick line outside, thin line inside).
For 1957 the Commando was also available in Martial Grey with dark blue tank panels double lined in gold.
From 1957 the hubs, brake plates and brake arms were silver

Plating
Chrome: Wheel rims, handlebars & levers, rear suspension unit lower spring covers, exhaust system, fork trim rings (upper half), saddle springs.
Cadmium: Nuts & bolts.

Polishing
The aluminium mudguards were polished as were the hub centres.
