 Paint
1959 - 60: James maroon throughout.  Tank top in Pastel Grey double lined in gold. (Thick lower line, thin upper line with narrow black line in between.)
The wheel rims, hubs, brake plates, operating arms and the air filter were silver painted (Argenized aluminium finish).
1961: As above except in Stromboli Red / Pastel Grey.

Plating
Chrome: Filler cap, exhaust system, engine covers, headlamp rim, handlebars & levers, the bolts that attach the headlamp, toolbox fastener, speedo bezel.
Cadmium: Nuts & bolts.

Plastic beading
"Chromed" plastic beading ran along the tank and rear mudguard seams.
