 Paint
I don't know.  It could have been black.  The trials bike was Stromboli Red with either a silver or chromed tank. 
Silver: Brake plates and brake operating arms.

Plating
Chrome: Wheel rims, handlebars & levers, filler cap, exhaust system. Maybe also the tank.
Cadmium: Nuts & bolts.

Polishing
The fork lower parts, mudguards, hubs.
