Frame numbering
Frame numbers were prefixed with a year / model code.  (1961)  DL20S-xxx.  (1962)  EL20S-xxx. etc.

Model announcement
"Motor Cycling" for 25 May 1961 (Impressions of 1961 Models, page 118). 

It was stated that the model would join the James range from Thursday 1 June.
