James Comet L1 Paint

1956 - 57: James maroon throughout. Tank double lined in silver (Thick lower line, thin upper line with narrow black line in between.)
1958 - 60: James Maroon with Tropical Grey tank panels double lined (as above) in gold. ( 1957 - 58 Optional: Martial Grey with Royal Blue tank panels, double lined (as above) in gold.)
1961 - 62: Stromboli Red with tank top in Tropical Grey, double lined in gold (as above).
1963 - 64: Arden Green (what were they thinking of ?) with white tank flash, single lined in gold ( I think).
The wheel rims, hubs, brake plates, operating arms and the air filter were silver painted (Argenized aluminium finish).

Plating
Chrome: Filler cap (from 1960), exhaust pipes, silencer (from 1960), headlamp rim, handlebars & levers, the bolts that attach the headlamp, toolbox fastener, speedo bezel, steering stem nut.
Cadmium: Nuts & bolts

Plastic beading
"Chromed" plastic beading ran along the tank (and rear mudguard ?) seam.
