 Paint
1945 - 46:  Black throughout with silver tank panels lined in gold.  From April maroon with silver tank panels also available
1947:  Maroon with silver tank panels lined in gold.  Black available as an option
1948:  James Maroon with blue tank panels lined in gold. (Black available as option)
Wheel rims were Argenized (aluminium paint finish)
Black headlamp shell and rim.
Early machines may have had painted handlebars.

Plating
Chrome: Headlamp nuts & rim, exhaust downpipes, fork links, handlebars & levers.
Cadmium: Nuts & bolts.
