| In 1949 James catalogued this Trials model.
It used the Villiers 6E 197cc engine and 3 speed gearbox.
It could also be specified with the 125cc 10D engine. They had experimented with trials versions of the M.L., with some success but it was never offered to the public. This new model was specifically offered as a trials machine and the original log book for FCO 761 describes it as the 'Comp' model. It is essentially the same as the Captain but with alloy guards and
higher handlebars. ( More
