Where there is no clear evidence to show what registration number the machine originally carried, it is possible to apply for an 'age related' number.  This will be a number appropriate to the age of the machine.  These numbers are drawn from series that were never issued at the time.

Formats include 3 - letter and three - number combinations for pre 1963  machines (eg. ABC 123) or numbers with the appropriate letter suffix for the year (eg. ABC 123C for 1965)

DVLA will still require evidence to show the identity and age of the machine.
